Sustainability

Camping de Duinhoeve attaches great importance to sustainability. The more sustainable our park is, the more our guests can enjoy a well-deserved vacation without placing an unnecessary burden on the environment. We are working to create a place where everything is just right, including for the local flora and fauna. Curious about the other steps we are taking to create a more sustainable world? Read about them below.

Less waste, more reuse.

Separating waste, no more disposable plastics, recycling where possible, and throwing away as little waste as possible. Working with organic packaging. For example, our reception uses recyclable containers, bags, etc., and the snack containers in our catering facilities are made from corn. If we can make a conscious choice in this regard, we will! This way, we reduce the amount of residual waste and combat food waste.

Charging facilities / electric driving

Our field service has almost completely switched to electric vehicles. This provides comfort in terms of noise reduction for our guests, but also significantly reduces emissions. Camping de Duinhoeve has numerous charging points. A sustainable service for your means of transport!

Energy

Our buildings and installations are high-quality, reliable over the years, and efficient in terms of energy and maintenance costs. For example, we reuse the water from our Splash Paradise and heat this water using solar panels. Numerous sustainable measures have been implemented in our toilet blocks. One of our latest sustainability measures was to replace the lighting fixtures with LED lighting. Think first, then act. That is our motto. Especially when it comes to purchases that need to last a long time. Nowadays, we call that sustainable. For us, this has been a matter of course for many decades.

Sheep grazing

Sheep grazing contributes to biodiversity. In addition to mowing, sheep are also excellent weed controllers. They love to eat black cherry trees. Sheep flocks are used specifically to combat black cherry trees and the nitrogen problem they cause.

Beachcombing days

On these days, tourists staying with us are encouraged to help clean up the beach. This initiative aims to make our (young) guests more aware of the litter problem, but also to show them how nice it is to relax in a clean environment.
