The origin of "De Duinhoeve"

You would never think of it if you look around today, but the history of the site "De Duinhoeve" goes back to the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century. The rabbits and birds are of course still there, but a lot has changed over the 250 years of the name's existence. Several families from Schouwen-Duiveland lived on the farms.

The times are changing! Just after the war a stay at the campsite cost only 25 cents a night, in guilders of course. In 1950 "De Duinhoeve" became an official campsite and the price per night doubled to 50 cents. Sanitary facilities were only built in 1959. Between 1964 and 1990, the campsite belonged to the municipality of the city of Rotterdam. Many regular guests from this period still come to spend their holidays. From 1990 the Boot family gradually became the owner of the site, and since 2001 they became full owners.
